Gurner has topped out at level 30 of the $600m FV project with all façade works now complete across the project’s two buildings, ‘Flatiron’ and ‘Valley House’.
Construction first commenced in April 2015 with Brookfield Multiplex (now Multiplex) awarded what was at the time considered one of Brisbane’s largest construction contracts, rumoured to be in the vicinity of $150 – $160million.
The project includes 651 apartments, 1860sqm of premium retail space and 2,000sqm of luxury communal amenity, including four pools, a moonlight cinema, VIP areas, commercial size gym among other substantial amenity.
Construction across the first two stages has generated 550 immediate jobs and a further 2,000 jobs off-site.
Designed by Elenberg Fraser, once complete, the project is set to play a pivotal role in the urban renewal of Fortitude Valley and the three buildings will deliver over 3,600sqm of luxury retail, 4,300sqm of resident amenity within the FV Private Club and 981 residential apartments.

Gurner founder and director Tim Gurner said topping out the first two buildings marked a significant milestone not only for the developer but Brisbane as a progressive ‘new world city’.
“FV is a project that is particularly close to my heart – it represents the first site we ever acquired in Brisbane and to-date our largest ever development, so to see it reach such a momentous milestone is incredibly humbling.
“Like any major milestone there has been a number of very difficult times through the project and construction and I feel very privileged to have such an incredible team around me and within Multiplex to deliver this world class precinct. Strategically Brisbane remains a strong component of our portfolio and we have a number of future land-holdings here with the view to develop further projects in the short to medium term.”
Multiplex’s Regional Director for Queensland, Geoff Kellock, said FV was a significant project for the Multiplex team and one of its largest in Brisbane in recent years.

The project’s third and final tower, ‘No.1’, is also under construction via builder ICON and is likely to reach completion by mid-2019. ANZ has provided the funding for all three towers.
